  • Guidance to take advantage of utility and New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program (NJCEP) incentives for energy efficiency audits and facility upgrades to help save energy and money.

Who is Eligible?

What’s Involved?

This program provides no-cost assistance to municipalities and school districts to support efforts that will improve building performance through energy efficiency analysis, planning, and upgrades. The scope of technical assistance will be tailored to the needs of each municipality or school district.

Municipalities and school districts will work directly with Sustainable Jersey staff to identify funding resources to implement energy projects to make their facilities more energy efficient.

Elected officials, staff, or green team members can be the project leads for the technical assistance program. The business administrator for the participating entity is required to attend the first virtual meeting.

Program Background

The New Jersey Clean Energy Act became law in 2018 and set ambitious energy reduction targets. The law identified New Jersey’s public utilities as the entities that would be responsible for implementing many key energy efficiency programs. Thanks to generous support from Elizabethtown Gas, New Jersey Natural Gas, South Jersey Gas, and PSE&G, Sustainable Jersey is able to offer technical assistance programs to help municipalities, residents and small businesses take advantage of these lucrative programs.
