Sustainable Jersey strives to connect participating communities with financial and technical resources to successfully complete actions and make progress towards a sustainable future. To that end, we directly offer multiple competitive grant and technical assistance opportunities funded by program underwriters and partner organizations each year.
Sustainable Jersey grants not only provide crucial financial support for projects that might otherwise not materialize, but also enable municipalities to complete actions that contribute toward certification. 2025 PSEG Grants Cycle
The PSEG Foundation is contributing $200,000 to support the Sustainable Jersey Grants Program for municipalities. Funding supports efforts to implement projects that help municipalities gain points needed for Sustainable Jersey certification and make progress toward a sustainable future. Free Complete Streets Technical Assistance
Municipalities within the South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization (SJTPO) region can apply to receive free technical assistance to help advance Complete Streets by documenting existing conditions, exploring opportunities for improvement, and providing recommendations. Learn more here.

Sustainable Jersey-PSE&G Partnership Program to Support Energy Efficiency in Our Communities
This program supports municipalities with technical assistance for municipal facilities and energy efficiency outreach campaigns for residents and local small businesses. Eligible municipalities are served 100% by PSE&G for electricity and natural gas. View the list of eligible municipalities here.

Free Energy Technical Assistance for New Jersey Municipalities
Sustainable Jersey offers multiple types of free technical assistance to municipalities, including options to help municipalities pursue energy efficiency upgrades for their facilities and support energy efficiency outreach campaigns for residents and businesses. These technical assistance offerings aid municipalities in saving energy and money, as well as gaining points in the Sustainable Jersey Certification Program. Learn more here.
